Many of you have asked me: how will the winners be selected? Here’s a detailed breakdown to make everything transparent, clear, and true to the FRD approach.

Another key factor I want to clarify clearly up front: I choose only vehicles and owners who will truly realise the project in a timely way, to protect the meaning of the giveaway and FRD’s reputation. Winners must commit to actually wrapping the design within an agreed time frame, with clear communication and feasibility checks before confirmation. This paragraph introduces and frames the realisation criteria before listing the other criteria, and yes it is correct as a start.

🚫 It’s Not About Money or Mods

We’re only selecting 3 winning vehicles. That means your application has to be complete, real, and worth our attention. Incomplete or misleading forms will be skipped — no exceptions.

🔎 What We Actually Check

  • First, let’s clarify a misconception. Winning isn’t about:

    • Having the most expensive build.
    • Installing the wildest aero kit.
    • Adding modifications just for show.

While these can be impressive, my choices go far deeper.

🎯 The Selection Criteria

1️⃣ Context

I analyse where and how the vehicle lives:

  • What is its environment?

  • Who will see it daily?

  • Does it belong to the street scene, track days, shows, brand promotion, lifestyle content?

A design is never isolated. It’s always connected to its world.

2️⃣ The Vehicle Itself

I observe:

  • Its lines and proportions.

  • Its current colour, wrap, or condition.

  • The inherent personality it already carries.

Some cars scream for bold designs. Others ask for subtlety. I listen to what each vehicle communicates before imagining what it could become.

A design is never isolated. It’s always connected to its world.

3️⃣ The Owner’s Vision & Energy

This is where it gets personal.

  • What did you write in your form?

  • What is your idea, your dream, your feeling?

  • Do you see your vehicle as an extension of yourself, your brand, or your art?

  • Do you already have a wrapper contact, or are you looking for one? Feasibility matters.

Especially for the first prize (T1 Full Custom Design), synergy is essential. Creating a concept at this level isn’t just about the car – it’s about you.

🤝 Collaboration for the First Prize

For the T1 winner, the design process becomes a creative partnership. There needs to be:

  • Trust. You trust my vision, I trust your openness.

  • Shared goals. We both want to create something iconic, not generic.

  • Dialogue. We will discuss your ideas, my proposals, and shape them into a design with a true narrative.

If I feel there is no shared vision, the full custom design may not be awarded. It’s not automatic. The T1 prize is a project born from synergy, not just a raffle win.

🧠 Why These Criteria Matter

Frank Ricci Design is about design as storytelling. Your vehicle isn’t just a canvas. It’s a moving chapter in your story.

I choose vehicles where:

  • Design and machine amplify each other.

  • Graphics are not just decoration, but statements of identity.

  • The final result leaves an impression wherever it goes.

💡 Final Thoughts

If you’re applying, think about these questions:

  • What story does your vehicle already tell?

  • What story do you want it to tell next?

Answering these isn’t just for me – it’s for you to discover why your build matters.

Thanks for reading. Now you know what drives my choices.

Will your ride be the next FRD masterpiece?
